El olor de la lluvia es cierto brings together 103 images created between 2016 and 2021 in the dry forest of Vichayito and the town of Órganos at the north of Peru. These images are the result of periodic walks that document the transforming landscape along natural and urban ravines.
The book also includes images shaped by a dreamlike vision of the territory, , using techniques such as double exposure, appropriation, re-photography, and screen capture. Interwoven with these images are drawings of fences that reflect on the possible existence of landscapes at the edges of urban development.
All the images were made during seasons of rain and drought , within a setting marked by the steady advance of urban growth into the dry forest.
